The Revista de Pediatria SOPERJ is entering a new stage in its editorial trajectory, marked by changes that expand the visibility, publication speed, and reach of the scientific work published by the journal.
Among the main developments, the Journal will now make its articles available in both Portuguese and English, along with abstracts in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. This update reflects current demands in scientific communication and strengthens dialogue with readers, researchers, and institutions, both in Brazil and abroad.
Since 2025, the journal has also adopted an ahead-of-print publication model, which allows approved articles to be made available before the final composition of the issue. In practice, this policy accelerates the dissemination of scientific knowledge, reducing the interval between manuscript approval and its availability to readers, benefiting authors, researchers, and the entire academic community.
These initiatives are part of an ongoing process of editorial qualification, aimed at progressively advancing the indexing of the Revista de Pediatria SOPERJ in major academic databases. This is a fundamental step toward increasing the visibility, traceability, and impact of the scientific work published by the journal.
Another important advancement was the implementation of a platform based on the OJS (Open Journal Systems), widely recognized in the national and international scientific publishing community. The new platform provides greater organization of the editorial workflow, standardizes the submission, review, and publication processes, and promotes interoperability with databases, directories, and indexing systems, contributing to the Journal's alignment with best practices in scientific publishing.
The Journal's new website represents another significant advancement, offering a more intuitive and functional browsing experience, while also expanding the visibility of and access to published articles. Works published from 2023 onward are already available on the new platform. Previous issues will be progressively incorporated, continuing the process of updating and consolidating the Journal's digital archive.
We invite the entire academic community to discover this new phase of the Revista de Pediatria SOPERJ, visit its new website, and submit their work, contributing to the strengthening of scientific production in Pediatrics.
