Effects of ludic ventilatory muscle training in asthma children
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To report the obtained results by ventilatory muscle training on water and on the ground, with ludic activities, to estabilish the effects of this combination on ventilatory muscle strength, at peak expiratory flow and six-minute walk test in asthma children. Methods: three asthmatic children participated in this series of cases with ages between 5-6 years old, for eight weeks, twice a week, lasting 30 minutes. An initial evaluation was conducted, followed by four weeks of aquatic intervention, reevaluation and four weeks of intervention on the ground, closing the protocol with a final evaluation. Results: There was an increase in the distance in the six-minute walk test, with higher gain between the initial evaluation and reevaluation; maintenance and improvement of ventilatory muscle strength, in general, as well as at peak expiratory flow.
