Evidências sobre a eficácia e segurança do canabidiol no tratamento da epilepsia infantil fármaco-resistente

Resumo
Introdução: A epilepsia é uma doença com múltiplas repercussões para o indivíduo, sistemas de saúde e sociedade. Casos de epilepsia refratária ou fármaco-resistente, como West, síndrome de Lennox-Gastaut e a síndrome de Dravet são frequentemente observados em crianças, afetando seu desenvolvimento e qualidade de vida. Objetivo: Identificar, na literatura científica internacional, as evidências clínicas sobre o uso do canabidiol para o tratamento primário ou adjuvante das encefalopatias epilépticas fármaco-resistentes, considerando seus benefícios e efeitos adversos. Método: Scoping review fundamentada nas diretrizes do Joanna Briggs Institute. A busca sistemática foi conduzida nos bancos de dados Medline e CINAHL. Resultados: Foram incluídos 12 estudos relevantes que utilizaram o CBD enquanto terapia principal ou tratamento adjuvante das formas refratárias de epilepsia infantil. Considerações Finais: As evidências cumulativas sugerem a segurança e eficácia do uso clínico do canabidiol como terapia para encefalopatia epiléptica refratária pediátrica, proporcionando redução na frequência das crises convulsivas e aumento na resposta ao tratamento convencional.
